When Christ comes into the heart

When Christ comes into the heart, then He comes into the mouth, then He comes into the eyes, and He comes into the mind.

He comes into the mouth. He makes you talk different. You don't talk like you used to. Christ got in your mouth. Done growed now from your heart, your love you had for Him, till you can bridle your tongue. Brother, that's a great thing.

Then the next thing you know, it grows into your eyes. The next thing you know, you find out, that old lustful things you used to look at, you'll turn your head. You're growing.

Then the first thing you know, you still turn your head, but you're thinking. See? After while, it grows into your mind; you don't even think about it no more. Then you're just a great big boy then. You're coming into a full matured man living for the Lord. So then you are in Christ then, a new creature.

Now, when these apostles begin to receive that, oh, they was so happy! They thought, "Oh, my, isn't this wonderful." And the Holy Ghost had filled them, and they were out there healing the sick and doing wonders.

Stay with the Word of God

You know what's the matter? People in these great big cold formal morgues out here pretending to be preaching the Gospel...

A little old preacher come to me yesterday, belongs to one of the greatest denominations there is in the land today outside of Catholic.

He said, "Brother Branham, I'm sick and tired." He said, "They're going to make all the preachers put on robes, and turn their collars around, and--and preach certain things, and--and they'll tell us what to preach on each quarter." He said, "I can't stand it no longer." He said, "What must I do? Must I start preaching the Gospel?"

I said, "Brother, as long as you're with that denomination, respect it. You stay just what they are; but walk up to your presbyter or your state superintendent and say, 'Sir, I've been borned again of the Spirit of God. Here's the Word of God, if you'll let me preach that, I'll stay in your church. If you don't, I'm gone. Turn it over to somebody else.'"

That's the way to do it. Don't beat around the bush. Don't be negative. Come out and say what it is. That's right.

He said, "Brother Branham, you think I'd have a congregation?" I said, "Where the carcass is, the eagles will be gathered." That's right. They'll follow.

You are a letter read of all men

Remember the Bible said, "You are living, written epistles read of all men."

Now, many people won't read the Bible. But God has made you a living representative. You are a walking letter, should be a walking Bible, Christ in you. You should be the walking Word of God.

And if you profess to be a Christian and not that, your influence--your--what you're influencing will make you have to answer for many souls that you've turned aside, away from Christ, in that day of the judgment. I think it behooves us tonight to think about that. For every man, woman, boy, and girl, knows that you're coming to the judgment.

You might escape this, that, or the other. You might beat the income tax, and you might escape the Internal Revenue. You might do one thing or another. You might have run over the speed limit, and the cops never catch you. But one day judgment's going to get you. That's certain.

A Resenting Audience

If you got a resenting audience, the Holy Spirit won't even reveal. You got to have something, that working together.

They were in one place and in one accord, then there came a sound from heaven like a... See, see?

But when you got... No matter how much I'd pray, and lay day and night studying and praying before the Lord, walk down here, maybe the anointing on me, walk up here and feel that resentment (See?), He--He just...

It just grieves Him right away; He won't reveal nothing.

But when you walk down here under the anointing and feel your audience under the anointing, that's when the Holy Spirit begins to work then, He begins to move and do great things for us. See?

Faith is a Sense

Now, I have another sense, and that is of hearing. Strike some music of something. [The pianist begins playing--Ed.] How many believes there's music playing? Let's see your hand.

Do you see it? How many sees that music? Do you smell it, taste it, feel it? Well, how do you know it's music? [...]

What if someone didn't have the sense of hearing now in here? They wouldn't know that music is playing; that sense is dead to them. They couldn't hear it, because they can't hear.

But you who have a sense of hearing know it's playing, because you hear it. You can't see it, you can't feel it, you can't smell it, you can't taste it, but you can hear it.

Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things you do not see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. But the sense of faith is just as real as your sight is or any other of your senses.

You see what I mean? You believe it, you just... There's no one can make you doubt it, because you're possessed with that sense that tells you it's so.

Atheists may rise, skeptics may stand, ages may turn, but God Almighty is still Jehovah-jireh. He can provide a sacrifice regardless of how deep you've stooped in sin, He's still Jehovah-jireh, the Lord provides--will provide a sacrifice. No matter how sick you are, how bad off you are, He's Jehovah-jireh. Rediscovering the Word of God

Revival is not about discovering something "new", but to rediscover the Word of God. A friend of mine told me about a book he had read discussing the reformation in Norway. In the early 1500s Norwegians for the first time were able to read the Word in their own language. What a great thing! Today Bibles are gathering dust on bookshelves... What if we could pick up our Bible with "new" eyes and read it like we had never read it before. I think it could wake us up.

Rain Falls On Everyone

Now, remember, you're in a cycle of three, but you're one person. Like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, cycle of three, but one Person, three attributes of the same God: fatherhood... Three offices like: fatherhood, sonship, and Holy Ghost. And you are body, spirit, and soul.

Now, the outside body has five inlets to it to contact your earthly home: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear. The inside, which is a spirit, it has five senses: conscience, and love, and so forth. But the inside of that, the soul, has one thing. That's where you live.

The Spirit can come out here and anoint you to do certain things, and you do it, but that don't mean you're saved. But think of it. Caiaphas prophesied. Judas cast out devils. See, the Spirit anointed him. There's rain falls on the just and the unjust; the weeds can rejoice with the wheat. But it's what it is at the core.

There's where you can, intellectuals can accept and say, "Oh, sure, that looks good. I believe that." That still don't do it. No, sir. And the spirit can actually make witness of it, and still it isn't so. Because if that soul hasn't come from God, it can make all the impersonations out here, but it cannot be real.

You can act healing; you can act like you have. You can act like you receive it. Christians can act like they're Christians, and act and be ever so good at it, but that don't mean they're saved.

That's exactly right. See? The Spirit can be there, the real genuine Spirit. The Holy Spirit can anoint you; that still don't mean you're saved. It's that inside soul that never dies; it's got Eternal Life. It always was Eternal Life. See? It come from God; it goes to God; it's the soul.

Repent daily

Now, we was talking on the word backsliding this morning. When you do that you're backslid. Yes, sir. You got to repent. Is that right? So every day--every day, you've got to die every day to live in Christ Jesus.

Purity With Pardon

After we receive our pardon, we receive purity with that pardon. Now, if you're just making out like you got pardon, you haven't got purity. Now, you say, "Can you prove that, Brother Branham?"

Mark this down: Hebrews the 9th chapter, the 11th to the 15th verse: "The worshipper once purged has no more conscience of sin." If you're really pardoned, the very guilt, the very desire, has left you. It's all gone. Purity goes with genuine pardoning. So if we claim pardon, and still not pure, how can we claim pardon, when pardon generates purity. See what I mean?

Sanctifying power goes with pardon
Cleansing, what cleansing you from what? Cleansing you from all connection of formal, dead, traditional works (Amen.), cleansing us from dead tradition. How can you still remain in dead tradition when you're pure from it? Now, you read that in Hebrews 9:11. See if that's right. It cleanses us from the filth of dead, formal, works when we have been pardoned by the Blood of Jesus, because it's the sanctifying power that goes with the pardoning. And we're cleansed from all of our dead works.

The way to come to the communion
Now, when we do that, we come to the communion in the right way. We come to the communion remembering Him, remembering Him, our Sacrifice. We remember Him our Peace; we remember Him our Purity, remember Him our Cleansing; remembering Him when we kneel at the cross, not half drunk, not living in adultery, not with malice, hatred, and strife; but we kneel at the cross by faith, by His feet to accept His pardoning. We come in that condition to the communion, in very sincerity, not just say, "I should go." You go there because you're deeply sincere. It's between death and life. Yes, sir. You go, and remember your traditions no more, and you're cleansed from your sin.

Clean and pure bloodbrothers
That's one place. When you kneel there in sincerity, Methodist brother, Baptist brother, Oneness brother, Twoness brother, Threeness brother: if you kneel there in sincerity, your traditions are gone. That's right. Trinity, Oneness, Baptists, they're all cleansed and are sons of God. Traditions and fussing is over. You don't think about it no more because you're clean and pure. See? You are brothers. No matter what some tradition said, don't have nothing to do with them. You're at the same cross, at the same fountain. You're blood brothers. Oh, my.

Receive your healing!

Lord God, Creator of heavens and earth, Author of Everlasting Life, Giver of every good gift, forgive my sin of unbelief and give to me of Thy mercy. I believe in Thee. I renounce the devil and all of his works. From this time henceforth, I will think positive. I will believe every promise. The Scripture that says, "By His stripes I was healed," I now accept it. Now, God's ready to give it to you. There's just one thing above you. That's a little thin shadow of doubt. Now, if we can break through that... Just like a great airplane, they tell me these jet planes, if they just struggle, and wiggle, and struggle and wiggle till they get through that sound barrier; but after they run through the sound barrier, then they are free. Now, if you can just rise yourself above that little--little doubt barrier there, oh, brother, what will take place. You will run free. You will be healed.

Forgiveness in prayer

If you want to be a blessing, and get a blessing, when a man has done you wrong, and he has absolutely justly, he... I mean he has done you wrong and you know that he's done you wrong; he's done you evil. Don't mention that; you take him to prayer before God.

Talk to God
And don't take it in a way of just a selfish and say, "Well, I'm supposed to do this." But stand with your shoulder to his shoulder, and stand in the Presence of God our Father, way a prayer should be made in the Presence of God, say, "Father, here's my brother, and he is justly; he deserves punishment because he has done me evil. And I don't see why he did it."

Let God talk to you
Then let God go to talking to you. And you'll see maybe, what that man's been through. The Devil has twisted him up somewhere and caused him to do that. Though he's absolutely wrong, before you leave the throne of God you'll be feeling sorry for that man. You'll be sympathizing with that brother. And when you get back down to earth again, you'll go over to that brother and shake his hand, 'cause you know what he's been through. You can not stand with a mortal in the Presence of God and condemn anybody, I don't believe, no, sir, even if he is a rank sinner.

Our attitude - their destination
And what about a brother that has made a mistake? Though I say he's wrong. Sometimes he's accused wrong when he's not wrong. But if he is wrong, well, if we will take him to the throne of God, stand there shoulder-to-shoulder with our brother, knowing he's a mortal, and maybe his destination rests upon our attitude towards him, when we come back from the throne of God, we'll realize that we're everyone guilty, and we all need help one from the other. And the best way to do is pray.

Experience brings trust

What good does it do to preach a Bible, of a God that heals, or the God that's got power, and tell the people that the days of miracles is past?

What good does it do to send ministers to seminaries, and to colleges, and so forth, and learn all these different things, and then come tell the people that's something that was; it isn't any more?

It's just like taking a man, freezing to death, and say, "Here's a nice picture of a big painted fire." The man cannot get warm by a painted fire. He's freezing and he's got to have warmth.

And a man that's thirsting for God can't be satisfied till something happens. It's an experience. And that kind of an experience will bring forth great faith. You never know what it is. You cannot trust God Who you have never met.

A few weeks ago in Phoenix, when I had preached on Sunday afternoon, where there's divisions, and men wouldn't hardly speak to one another. I seen around two hundred ministers or better, walk down to the altar, and shake one another's hands, and cry over one another's shoulders, and say they'd never fuss or be different with one another again.

Let that great Church of God take that attitude tonight, and I'll show you a revival that'll ought to sweep this nation and tear down every nest of hell there is. Brother, we can preach till we're hoarse and our lungs fall out, until the people make them move, you'll never do nothing. That's right. You've got to make them move and believe it. Brethren, do it tonight. Do it tonight. Stand up for the Word. Stand for the living Word of the living God. God will manifest it. Amen.

The Pentecostal Mistake pt.2

You know, in the Old Testament they took a son, dressed him in a nice pretty garment, and set him out before the public. And they had a ceremony of placing, or we call it adopting. In Galatians there. I kinda think Paul refers to it as adopting sons.

Now, by placing a son... Ministers will understand and spiritual Bible readers, a-placing this son... In other words, the son was a son when he was born. There's where our Pentecostal people made their mistake. Being borned into the family by the Holy Ghost (That's right.), but then we must be the right kind of children, tutored by the right tutor. See?

Our tutor is the Holy Spirit
Now, if a man back in the old age thought of his son, and he wanted him to be a right kind of a son, he got the best tutor he could find, the best teacher; 'cause he wanted his son to come up to be like his daddy. See? So he got the right tutor.

Now, if a man on earth would think of the best tutor, how about God our Father? Now, He never got bishops, and cardinals, and priests; He got the Holy Ghost to be our Tutor. And the Holy Spirit is our Teacher. And He--He's in the Church, and He takes message to the Father.

And then, what if the tutor come up and said, "Well, father..." Now, He ain't going to get some kind of a tutor that wants a straw in his hat, you know, a feather, we call it; say, "Oh, if I tell the father something about... That little boy is a renegade anyhow, but if I tell the father, the father might give me a raise." That ain't the right kind of a tutor. A right kind of a tutor's honest, tell the truth. And the Holy Ghost tells the truth when He comes before God, to us. Yeah.

Growing up to be like Him
So He comes up. What do you think? He'd blush today to say, "Your daughters are all cutting their hair, and You told them not to. Your sons are so organize-minded they just simply can't see one to the other, and that's... And they're adopting this for this and this for that." How He must blush. But how that Tutor would love to come and say, "Oh, my. That son's a real son. He's just like the Father." Oh, how He'd love to say that. See?

Adoption
Then the Father swells out in pride and say, "This is My son."
That's exactly what God's did on Mount Transfiguration. You notice there appeared Moses and Elijah. And Peter, all excited, the supernatural was done, Peter got excited; he said, "Let's build three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and for Elias."

While he was yet speaking God shut him up. He said, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him." See? God put Hisself in the background and, "This is My Son."

There's where I think that many of us Pentecostal people has made a mistake. We think as soon as we become sons and daughters of God, that settles it. We just come into a place of trying...

The Pentecostal blessings has been falling on the people here in America for fifty years; and if anything, we're dwindling instead of going on. "What are you preaching such as this for, Brother Branham?" I want to see the church of God in deep sincerity; I want to see the old fashioned prayer meetings. I want to see them times when they can't leave church; they just stay all night, and pray, and fast, and call out till God answers. Instead of that, it seem like love has dwindled away from us...

Pentecost is an experience!
That's the way real Christianity is a living experience. Pentecost is not a denomination; Pentecost is an experience that anybody can have if they'll wish to have it. It's something that you experience, the Holy Spirit.

The New Year

So, for the new year, be determined to stay with His Word and what It's promised, like others elected did in others' days.

If you feel that you've seen the Light that's broke through upon you, of Jesus Christ, His manifestation of His great Holy Spirit in these last days. And, remember, remember, stay with it, what He did, you are one of the Elected; and what he, the Elected in other days, like Abraham, when he saw it, when it was all against scientific proof.

Noah saw it, and it was all against scientific proof. Moses saw it, and it was all against scientific proof. These smart ages that's gone by; but the Elected who saw it, stood firm! Amen.

And for the future, let's stand firm on the promise. God made it, it's up to God to see it through. I'm just following the rhythm. When it beats down the time and says "this is the end of William Branham on the earth," then I'll go with the rhythm. Then I'll rise again with the rhythm. Hallelujah. The One that beat it in, beats it out, beats it in again. It's the rhythm of God, "I'll raise him up at the last days. He that believeth on Me has everlasting Life.

He that heareth My Word and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Eternal Life; and shall never come into the judgment, but has passed from death unto Life." I'll follow the beating of the Word. Amen. Not the beating of my heart; the beating of the Word! No matter what it is, if my heart don't beat with the Word, then my heart's wrong. Amen. For, He is the Word! Amen. Laying the foundation

First you must be borned again. And then when you're borned again, you have faith; you believe the Word. Until you're borned again you'll argue against it.

If you're just religiously inclined, and you've got a little human knowledge that you should do right, you'll never be able to agree upon the Word of God. You'll never do it. You've got to be borned again; and borned again, it produces faith.

Now you can grow
All right. Then after you get faith, this right here: F-A-I-T-H faith, then you're just in position of growing.

Now, a lot of people go up to the altar and pray, and say, "Lord, forgive me," and a great experience of sanctification come upon them, and things, then you have a great time, get up at the altar shouting. You go back and say, "Bless God, I got it." No, you just started to a place where you can grow. You ain't done nothing yet. See, the only thing you've done is just laid the foundation.

Faith is the foundation
Now, you're going to build a house. And you pour the foundation and say, "Boy, I got her." See, you've got the foundation to build your house on. Now, you've got to build the house.
Now, there's where the thing comes in this morning we're going to talk about now. All right. A house, this foundation is first.

What is the foundation of Christianity? Faith in the Word of God. That's your foundation. Then you begin to grow. Then you start. You begin to add to this foundation.

The Word Interpreted

Jesus in His age, what was He? Just like the prophets of their age. Each one of them was God's Word being interpreted for that age.

Moses was God's Word interpreted. God said, "I'll send down there and I'll deliver them. I'm sending you down with My Word. I'll do great signs and wonders." He did it. Mary, she was God's Word interpreted, "A virgin shall conceive." That was God's Word interpreted.

Not what they expected
Now, here comes Jesus on the scene, the God of the prophets. And here they was so organized, and discriminated, and oh, in such a condition till they didn't even recognize Him. He didn't come the way they thought He ought to come. They thought God would pull a little lever here and let the corridors of heaven down, and He'd walk down and say, "Caiaphas, high priest of God, I have arrived."

Jesus, the Word
But He had a baby born in a manger, down in a little cave stable in Bethlehem, way down there with the straw and manure of the barn, a little baby wrapped in swaddling cloth and laid into a manger: had no schooling. Watch how He corrected the word. And He was the Word. He is the Word. He ever remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Right.

Put The Holy Spirit To Work

The trouble with the people today, those who have the Holy Spirit, they just don't know what to do with It. They blow It all out in steam, instead of making It work for the Lord. They shout It out, and praise It out. That's all right, but let's put It to work. Let's make It work for the Lord.

Like Benjamin Franklin, when he caught electricity, he begin to scream, "I got it. I got it." But just to say he had it, could... 'cause he felt it. He had it, but it'll never do no good till he puts it to work. Now look what it does.

Let the Holy Spirit Work
And the Holy Spirit will light up the world with the Gospel just like electricity did, if we can put It to work. But you've got to let the Holy Spirit work.

People Want To Be Entertained
People today are entertained. If you'll notice on the platform and different places, everywhere--not only here, anywhere--the people come by, they expect... They've had too much of this here high pressured, latter day, Divine healing campaigns. It's exactly right. People saying, "I got it in the hand. Whew. Feel it? Feel it? You feel it?" No, you don't feel it. You might feeled your hand, but that's all you feeled. That's right.

It's Faith - Not Feelings!
Jesus never did say, "Did you feeled it?" He said, "Did you believe it?" See? Not did you feeled it? do you believe it? Faith is not feeling; faith is something that you don't feel; you have no senses will declare it, only that sixth sense, that faith that knows it. You don't feel, taste, smell, or hear it; but you know it. Because Jesus said so; that settles it.

Hollywood Evangelism
And if I could ever get a message sometime that would shake the people away from all this here Hollywood evangelism and get them down to the Bible to THUS SAITH THE LORD, then something will happen. And that's what I've longed to see. We've had a stir here in the Temple. But I'd like to see a revival in the Temple.

We Need A Revival
Now, a revival is not bringing in new members, a revival is reviving what you've already got. That's what we need, is a revival.

Did you ever see the sea have a revival? Sure. When it goes to leaping and jumping, and the waves a beating, there's not one drop of water more in it than it was when it was perfectly quiet. But it's got a revival, throws all the trash up on the shore. That's what it does.
And that's what the church needs tonight, is a revival to throw all the nonsense out of it, and throw it out on the shore, so they can get back to Gospel solid foundation.

We Need The Golden Character of Christ
That's what the Bible said, "Come and buy of Me, gold--pure gold, tried in a fire." The old beaters used to take the gold when they beat it, and they would beat that gold, and turn it over, and beat it, beating the dross out of it, until the reflection of the beater, he could see it in it. Then he knowed he had the dross out of it.

The Bride Makes HERSELF Ready
And that's the way God takes the Holy Spirit, and takes the Christian and the Church, and beats it with the Gospel, and back and forth, and back and forth, until it reflects Jesus in it. The Holy Spirit can see the works of Jesus going on in the Church, then things begin to go fine.
But there's too much dross in the Church today. Too much. Now, they're fine people, the best in the world, the cream of the crop. But the Church needs to make Itself ready. Get ready. The Bible said, "The Bride had made Herself ready," as I preached on it at Pisgah the other day.

Keep A Positive Confession

People say, "Well, I'm weak; my faith is not very much; I'm not a very good Christian." That's just what the devil wants you to say. You're just talking his language right then. See? You mustn't never say that.

Don't never let your testimony be negative; let it be positive all the time. "I am saved. I have God in my heart. I believe Him with all my heart." Do you believe in Divine healing? "With all of my heart."

Do not permit negative thoughts
Let your testimony always and your thoughts, everything... Never permit a negative thought to come in your mind if you can help it. When it starts that, don't entertain it. Well, you say, "I can't help the thoughts from coming." Well, that'll be like the farmer that said he couldn't stop the birds from flying over his place, but he could sure stop them from roosting.

Do not entertain negative thoughts
So that's a good thing. You see? You can't help the thoughts when they come, but don't entertain them; just pass it on. "No, sir. Jesus Christ is my Saviour; all things are mine by God. And I'm going to keep them. I'm going to testify of them."

Confess what God says
And God can only bless you as you confess that He has done it for you. See, He's the High Priest of our confession. Is that right? Hebrews 3. He said that He's the High Priest of our confession. He can only do for us as we accept it, and believe it, and confess it.

Keep Your Eyes On Christ

No matter which way the wind's blowing, we're still looking to Calvary, whether it's opposite, or whether whatever it is, we still are set towards Calvary. That's the true believer. And then we're not tossed about by every wind of doctrines, and this comes in, and that comes in, and this takes place; we just got that one pilot course that's right to Calvary.

Do not drift around
I think that's what God meant when He spoke through Jude over there and said, "A clouds without rain, wandering stars..." just wandering around about. That's not right; we shouldn't do that. We should just... When a Christian is first borned in the Kingdom of God his affection, his life, everything is set right on Christ. If he's just a little bit smart, if you don't watch he will put all of it over on education and go off to real cold formal, and indifferent, and everything, some theology, or some great interpretation of Greek words.

Trap no.1: Formality and Intellectualism
I met a man here some time ago, and he said, "Billy, I just learned a certain Greek word. I've been on it for five years, trying to learn the real meaning of this Greek word." Said, "Oh, when I found it, is it a blessing."
I said, "You've been five years learning one Greek word?"
"Yes."
I said, "In that five years, by God's grace, I've won a half million souls to Christ not knowing any Greek word."

It isn't what you know; it's Who you know: To know Him is Life. And we spend so much time on those things which is foolish. Just, I don't mean foolish, which it doesn't do us any good... When you do know, what good does it do you? None. So you just might as well know Him.

Trap no.2: Emotionalism and Fanaticism
And then if he becomes, this person that's centered on Christ, if he's just a little bit nervous or emotional, if you don't watch that individual, he will drift off to this side into fanaticism. And he will become a regular--just every way the wind blows, here he goes. Everywhere the rattle comes, why, he will take after it.

But you don't want that. One's just as contrary as the other one is. But we want to be centered, Christ and there alone. Look to the Lamb of God. Look and live.

Faith Ignores The Symptoms

The trouble of it is with the church today, we come with hope in the stead of faith. Faith is positive. Faith needs no booster; faith knows what it's talking about it's talking about. Faith is strong. Faith has hairs on the chest; it speaks and the rest of them shut up. Symptoms can't even speak at all when real godly faith speaks. It's got the floor. It knows where it's at. It's had an experience.

Jonah had plenty of symptoms
When I hear people say of their symptoms, I think of Jonah. If there was any man who had a right to complain about symptoms, it would been Jonah. We would think him to be backslid because he was out of the will of God when he had failed to do what God told him to do. And then he had his hands tied behind him; he was in the belly of a fish, and out into the stormy ocean with a big tornado on top of the ocean, in the belly of a whale with seaweeds around his neck and vomit. And if he looked this a way it was whale's belly. Every way he looked it was whale's belly. You talk about symptoms, he had them. There's no one here tonight in that condition.

Jonah believed in the power of prayer
But look what that fellow done. We think he was backslid and so out of the will of God, and we are perfectly in His will. And under that kind of a setup he said, "They are lying vanities. I won't even look at them. But once more will I look to Your holy temple." For he knew that when Solomon dedicated the temple and prayed this prayer to God, "If Thy people be in trouble anywhere and will look towards this holy temple, then hear their prayers, Lord, and deliver them..."

We should look away from the symptoms
And he believed in Solomon's prayer and a temple that was built by man. And under those symptoms and them circumstances, if he could believe Solomon's prayer, and a temple that had been made with men, what ought we tonight under these circumstances, not look to a temple made with hands or an earthly man who prayed, but to the throne of God Himself where Jesus stands at His right hand with His own Blood making intercession upon our confession, when He died for that purpose. We should look away from our symptoms and call those things which are as though they are not. God made the promise.

Believe God - Expect Great Things!
And look what God did for that prophet under those circumstances. He kept him alive three days. Now, we know that the people of Nineveh worshipped idols. And their god of the sea was the whale. And all the fisherman along the banks, and here comes the whale swimming right into the shore and spits the prophet out on the bank: the god producing the prophet. Certainly they would hear it.

And as he went through the city preaching, the people who did not know which is right and left hand repented till they put ashes and sackcloth on their animals. And Jesus referred to that, that the people of Nineveh repented at the preaching at the preaching of Jonah, and He said, "A greater than Jonah is here." And they called Him Beelzebub.

Get Among Believers

God's going to give you the Holy Spirit. He's going to give It to you, 'cause you asked for It; you want to make a surrender. And if you did that, I tell you what I want you to do.

I want you to find some good church who believes in the baptism of the Holy Ghost; go there. Go there. And if you're in that kind of a church, go to your pastor, tell him, say, "I raised my hands the other night in a little meeting."

You don't even have to tell him where it was at. Say, "I raised my hands; I want you to pray with me, pastor. I'm seeking the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I want It. I must have It. I must have It to live. I just must have It. I've seen the Light." Oh, God grant It to you. Will you do it now?

The Most Important Thing In Your Life

Some of you people only go to church once a year: "Oh, my. It's Easter morning." You put on your most charming garments, your beautiful hat, and you go down to church, and you set twenty minutes. And then you come back, and you say, "That settles it..."

Does Jesus accept it? Amen. Yes, He accepts it. Any place you'll give Him, He will accept it. He'll never rebuke you...

We have other things too that we think more important. My brother, my sister, the most important thing in your life is to entertain Jesus Christ. You believe that? Amen.

Entertaining Christ should come first!
I believe that the most important thing in any life is to entertain Jesus Christ properly, in first place in your worship, first place in your life, first place in everything. Jesus Christ deserves that place. Amen. I believe it with all my heart.

...although He will take any place
But if you don't, He'll take second place. He'll go down in the basement with you. If you're ashamed of Him when you're out among the people, and then you go down in the basement so nobody will see you, He'll still come. That ought to make you love Him above everything in the world. Jesus in second place... Jesus in fourth place... Jesus in tenth place... But still He comes; you invited Him.

We Are Not Saved By Works

We're saved not by works, what we do. It ain't what I done that saved me. It's what Christ done that saved me. See? I have no holiness.

And if I tried to say, "Well, I quit drinking. I quit smoking. I quit stealing, lying, so forth." That's what I done. See? That would be my own. I'd have something to brag about.

But I didn't quit nothing. He just come to me and took it out of me. See? That's it. Then it ain't what I done. It's what He done.

God does the work
And then, the Holy Spirit then abides in and grows daily; just grows, making Itself greater and greater; pushes out the things, the cares, the temptation. As you overcome them, the Holy Spirit takes Its place.

If you got a real bad temptation of something that's not right; overcome that thing a few times, and watch if your testimony doesn't bloom on account of it.

You Need An Experience With God

You cannot receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost without having an experience when it happens...

Now, if you believe "every speck of the Word," You say you believe every speck of It, then the Word is laying in there waiting for the Holy Spirit to put It to work; but it takes the lighting of the candle.

Here's the candle with the wick in it, and with all the tallow, and everything it has to have in that candle; but until the fire comes on it, it will not shine any light. No matter how perfect the candle is, and how perfect it'll burn and everything, it's got to be litten, and then it burns.

And when you believe and are made up of the instructions of what the Holy Spirit is, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness,--the fruits that It bears out, until the Holy Spirit with a fiery experience comes down and lights that candle, then you haven't received the Holy Ghost. See? You've got to have the experience to have the Holy Ghost.

How Can You Be Born Again?

Rev. William Marrion Branham explains in the following statement what he believes constitutes the NEW BIRTH: Justification (water), Sanctification (blood) and the baptism of the Holy Ghost (spirit). This is the mystery that Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about. So how can a man be born again a second time?

Justification
We believe in justification by faith, Romans 5:1. We believe, that after a person being justified by faith, he has peace with the Lord Jesus Christ. But it's possible that this same person could have habits such as drinking, smoking, doing things that he should not do, filthy habits of the flesh.

Sanctifiction
Then we believe that the Blood of Jesus Christ sanctifies this person for the service of the Lord. And that's... We believe in sanctification according to Hebrews 13:12 and 13, "Where Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His Own Blood, suffered without the gate." And we believe that sanctification is taught in the New Testament, and meant for the believers through the New Testament age, which we're now living. And we also believe that after the person has been sanctified, unclean habits has gone from the person.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
He is a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, and his habits are gone; we believe that then he is a candidate for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which comes as a filling of the believer.

Turn Your Faith Loose

You don't have to wait for the Holy Ghost to come. It's been here two thousand years. "While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on them that believed." The waiting was just for the day of Pentecost to come.

I was already feeling better the morning after I was prayed for, and when I went to see the doctor yesterday they took blood tests and I was checked.

The doctor just shook his head and said he didn't find anything. I thank God for healing me. I'm much better today!

James 5:14-15 works! It reads on this wise:
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

I thank God for healing and salvation!

I've had a bad cough for about a month now, and yesterday I started to feel pain in my back. Some say it's pneumonia, but I'm not signing anything. My confession remains positive!

Yesterday in church my pastor prayed for me and anointed me with oil, as the Scripture tells us to do. Now, I trust that the Lord will do the rest and heal me. I give thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ!

I just read this wonderful Word:

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. (Psa 103:)

Raising OUR Standard of Living

I listened to a sermon called "Raising OUR Standard of Living" by David Dienhart, and I was really blessed.

Brother Jeff, The pastor of the church said some words towards the end of the service and told about a plane trip he made recently, where he sat next to a lawyer.

Brother Jeff was listening to a sermon on his iPod with a headset on, while the other man was watching a video also with his headset on. The movie was vulgar at times and finally Bro Jeff couldn't stomach it anymore and tapped the man on the shoulder.

- Take your headset off and listen to this, he said.

The man removed his own headset and borrowed Bro Jeff's and listened... his eyes got bigger and bigger as he listened, and he was overwhelmed by what he heard. This made way for a four hour long conversation between the two, and a chance for Bro Jeff to testify about the Lord Jesus Christ.

With the help of what? A sermon played off of an mp3-player.

You can't listen to Holy Ghost inspired preaching and putting vulgar things before your eyes at the same time without feeling condemned. How important it is for me and for you to remember, that our ears and our eyes should be sanctified and consecrated to God...

The preaching of the Word is foolishness to the world, but to us it is Life and Salvation!

You Are A Tree - Keep Drinking

Now, we find that in this little tree, it pushes out. When it grows it pushes out. And when you are born into the Kingdom of God, just a little baby in Christ, everything that you have need of in this life's journey, is in you when you receive the Holy Spirit.

Oh, then what do you have to do, is drink, and drink, and keep on drinking. Don't just stop when you join church and are baptized; just keep drinking till you have faith for this, and faith for that, and faith for this, and push out until all the manifestations of the Holy Spirit is living in the church.

The Philippian Jailer

You know the thing of it today, when a sinner comes to the Lord, we don't treat them like Paul did when the Philippian jailer said, "What must I do to be saved?"
Now, what would we say today? "You got to quit smoking; you got to quit drinking; you got to quit doing this."

That wasn't what he asked. He said, "What must I do to be saved?"

And Paul told him, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ."

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, not, "Come, join our congregation, and stand up before the church, and say this, and we'll sprinkle you, immerse you, or whatever you want to do, our way. And if you're not in our church, then..."

That wasn't it.

He said, "Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou and thy house shall be saved."

If you can believe for yourself, you can believe for your house also. Have enough faith in God to believe for yourself, then believe for your children also.

That same faith will save your children that saved you. If you just keep praying.

God will answer prayer, don't worry. Just ask Him, and believe it, and get it anchored in your heart, and just keep moving on. That's the way it's done. Yes, sir.

How Can I Overcome?

I was listening to a sermon by Bro Aaron McGeary, where he was preaching on perfect submission and how to overcome. One quote really struck me with power and I wanted to share it with you. He is quoting the Bro Branham's sermon "How Can I Overcome":

"Overcome means 'to recognize the Devil in every one of his tricks.'"

So, the first step is to recognize whatever is coming your way. As you become experienced in your walk with God you will quickly be able to determine if something is from God or if it is from the devil. But there's one more thing...

"To overcome, you must recognize that the God in you is greater and mightier than he is, that the One that's in you has already overcome him. And, by His grace, you are more than a match for him. Amen. There's real overcoming, when you recognize."

A Restored Church

Watched a sermon from Happy Valley Church the other day, and there was a tongue with an interpretation. It just brings a wonderful feeling in my heart to see that the gifts are coming back to the Church, and it reminds me of the words of the prophet:

"Seven days going without finding the real living God. We've run off on little isms. God gave Luther justification; he run off with it. He gave Wesley sanctification; he run off with it. He left off--Pentecostal people speak in tongues, and they run off with it. God wants to call us together in a unity of power to bring back the fullness of the Holy Ghost into the Church again, with all the spiritual gifts in operation in every local body."

"He said there'd be evening Lights in the last day. The prophet said so. God's true witness said so. There'd be evening Lights. What is an evening Light? The same as the morning Light. The prophet said, "There'll be a day where it wouldn't be night or day," a gloomy time like it is outside today, just enough light to see how to get around. But said, "In the evening time, it shall be Light." What would it be...?... coming back, going back to the early time. "There'd be evening Lights in the last day, shining."

He said there'd be a prophet rise in the last days (Malachi 4), giving the signs of the days of Lot, so forth, also prophesying for the people to return back, turn back to the faith of the first Pentecostal fathers. Turn back to the original. Turn back to the Bible. Get away from organization and denomination and go back to the first. Go back to the original Pentecost, to the original filling of the Holy Ghost, to the original power of God. The Word testifies that that'll happen.

It shall be Light in the evening time,

The path to glory you will surely find;

In the water way, is the Light today,

Buried in the precious Name of Jesus.

Young and old, repent of all your sins,

The Holy Ghost will surely enter in;

The evening Lights have come,

It is the facts that God and Christ are one.

What Is Truth?

The following text is an excerpt from the book "An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages" by William M. Branham, where he speaks about truths vs. the Truth. Have YOU found the truth yet? I'm quoting from the 7th chapter which deals with the Sardisean Church Age, which was the time period when God raised up the great reformer Martin Luther. Read on...

If there was ever a time of denominational zeal it was at this tragic time. The words of Comenius describe much of this era. Comenius wrote the "ONE THING NEEDFUL." He compares the world to the labyrinth, and shows that the way out is by leaving what is needless, and choosing the one thing needful--Christ. The great number of teachers, he says is the reason of the multitudes of sects, for which we shall soon have no names left.

Each church reckons itself as the true one

or at least as the purest, truest part of it, while among themselves they persecute each other with the bitterest hatred. No reconciliation is to be hoped for between them; they meet enmity with irreconcilable enmity.

Out of the Bible they forge their different creeds; these are their fortresses and bulwarks behind which they entrench themselves and resist all attacks.

I will not say that these confessions of faith--for we can admit in most cases that they are so--are bad in themselves. They become so, however, in that they feed the fire of enmity; only by putting them away altogether would it be possible to set to work on healing the wounds of the Church.

"To this labyrinth of sects and various confessions another belongs; the love of disputation... What is attained by it? Has a single learned strife ever been settled? Never. Their number has only been increased.

Satan is the greatest sophist;

he has never been overcome in a strife of words...

In Divine service the words of men are usually heard more than the Word of God. Each one chatters as he pleases, or kills time by learned disquisitions and disproving the views of others.

Of the new birth and how a man must be changed into the likeness of Christ to become partaker of the Divine Nature (II Peter 1:4), scarcely anything is said.

Of the power of the keys, the Church has almost lost the power of binding, only the power of loosing remains... The sacraments, given as symbols of unity, of love, and of our life in Christ, have been made the occasion of bitterest conflict, a cause of mutual hatred, a centre of sectarianism...

In short, Christendom has become a labyrinth. The faith has been split into a thousand little parts and you are made a heretic if there is one of them you do not accept...

What can help?

Only the one thing needful, return to Christ, looking to Christ as the only Leader, and walking in His footsteps, setting aside all other ways until we all reach the goal, and have come to the unity of the faith (Ephesians 4:13).

As the heavenly Master built everything on the ground of the Scriptures so should we leave all particularities of our special confessions and be satisfied with the revealed Word of God which belongs to us all.

With the Bible in our hand we should cry: I believe what God has revealed in this Book; I will obediently keep His commands; I hope for that which He has promised.

Christians, give ear!

There is only one life, but Death comes to us in a thousand forms.

There is only one Christ, but a thousand Antichrists...

So thou knowest, O Christendom, what is the one thing needful. Either thou turnest back to Christ or thou goest to destruction like the Antichrist.

If thou art wise and wilt live, follow the Leader of Life.

But you, Christians, rejoice in your being caught up,... hear the words of your Heavenly Leader, 'Come unto Me.'... Answer with one voice, 'Even so, we come'".

What Is Real Power?

Oh, how wonderful it is to think about it... that we are being restored back to the Original faith! Like Jesus, the Bride will have power to conquer sin and sickness - She will have sin under her feet before the Rapture takes place. And she will even be able to control the elements; the wind, the sea and everything that God tells her to do, she'll do. But first, She will have control over her own 16 elements... Listen to what Brother Branham says about power:

"Today we got the wrong conception of power. Power is overcoming, returning good for evil, that's real power. That can love your enemy, do good to those that do evil to you. That's real power; that's God power. Yes."

Are You Converted Yet?

"You're not converted until you receive the Holy Ghost.
The Bible said so. After Peter had both been saved and sanctified, give power to cast out unclean spirits, and to preach the Gospel, Jesus plainly told him he was not converted, until he received the Holy Ghost.

And He said, "After you're converted, then strengthen your brethren." That was on the night of the betrayal, that he was not yet converted.

And no man is truly converted until he's been changed, and died to himself, and the Holy Spirit has control of that person. They don't want to do it.

The Holy Spirit will not misbehave itself in one person, and behave itself in another.
It'll make each person come into Its character (See?), because it's a Spirit that leads you.

It brings--makes you subject to Its nature. You don't bring It subject to your nature; It makes you subject to Its nature.

And the Holy Spirit makes you live and love to do it. Oh, how you love to give up the things of the world, when the Holy Spirit comes in. How it cleanses you and washes you, and puts a desire in you to--to--to follow Him, and a thirst, and a hunger for more of it, just bathing yourself.

Cultivating Forgiveness

I found this and I thought it might be a blessing to you. Especially if you have experienced being hurt in your life. We have a Saviour who is greater than all our hurts, who was hurt more than we can imagine...just for us! Here's the text I'd like you to read:

Roy L. Smith says that the art of forgiving is a spiritual grace every Christian should develop. Because this is so difficult to put into practice, he offers the following suggestions:

1) Begin by assuring yourself that compared to Christ's suffering you haven't been seriously wronged at all.

2) Recall the many kind deeds that have been shown to you, perhaps even by the person who has harmed you.

3) List the benefits you have received from the Lord.

4) Thank Him for blessing you with His love and forgiveness each day.

5) Make an honest effort to pray for the one who has injured you.

6) Go even further by looking for an opportunity to help him.

7) If the offense is especially hard to forget, try to erase the memory by thinking gracious and generous thoughts.

8) Finally, before you fall asleep at night, repeat slowly and thoughtfully that phrase from the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

Are You Humble Enough?

In the sermon "Humble Thyself" from july 1963, Brother Branham talks about how we should ignore the negative things and pray for those who (in our eyes) have wronged us or others. I think that's a real, godly attitude. Don't you? Here's the quote:

"Don't forget, this Tabernacle will lose its strength. Remember that this is the target where Satan's got every gun in hell trained on it. He'll cause one person to do something that's contrary to what the other one thinks.

He's doing that. That's his business, if he can get somebody to say something, somebody to talk about another, say, "Well, listen, did you know so-and-so did?"

Don't you listen to it at all. That's the devil. See, it's Satan.

If there's anything that somebody's done wrong, pray for them. And don't pray in a selfish way, say, "I know it's my duty, I've got to pray for that brother." You take it to your heart, really down for that sister.

And just talk and be real sweet, and the first thing you know, you find them right back in the service again. 'Cause after all, we're headed towards the setting of the
sun."

You Are Omnipotent!

We had a wonderful service in church today. My pastor, Brother William Reiersen, preached a sermon on "Becoming Partakers of Divine Nature". It's actually a great and precious promise, also preached by Brother Peter in the Bible.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the model example of a real Christian. Do you? And an example is supposed to be followed, right? After all, Jesus said, "the things that I do, shall you do also!" We sing the song "To be like Jesus", but do we really believe it? Read this mindblowing statement by Brother Branham, where he actually says that you can be just like Jesus, if you surrender your all to Him:
"Amen. Cut every obstacle from human beings, that they might be connected like in the garden of Eden. Now, man... I was going to choke it, but I'm going to say it. Man is omnipotent. You don't believe that, but he is. A man that's fully surrendered to God is omnipotent. Did not He say in Mark 11:22, "Whatsoever things you say and don't doubt in your heart, it'll come to pass. You can have what you've said"?

What happens when two omnipotence meet? When God and man comes together through omnipotence, something's got to shake. Some... Whatsoever you'd say with that creative power of omnipotence of God, knowing that He's promised it, and He said it in His Word, it creates a power that goes out yonder and brings things to pass; things that is not, it makes them as though they are, because two omnipotence have met. There He stands. Oh, isn't He wonderful."

Are You Really Prepared?

As Christians we believe we are living in the End Time.

Since Israel, the fig tree, became a nation in 1946 and started to bloom, God has done mighty things! He sent us a prophet with a Message of preparation for the Rapture, and at the same time sent judgement to those who rejected this Message.

The Message is the Coming of the Lord, and how the Bride must prepare herself. She must be filled with the Holy Ghost and get faith for the great Rapture that according to 1.Thessalonians 4:16 will translate her into Glory, leaving the world in a tribulation period where the Antichrist will persecute and kill the remnant, who refuse to take the Mark of the Beast, which means bowing down to the established religious system.

Brother Branham called this age "the beginning of sorrows". It has been a gradual change, where the world opinion has moved farther and farther away from the Word of God, which NEVER changes. It was bad enough in '65, but what about today? I can mention events like September 11th, the great tsunami that killed over 300,000 people... they are the beginning of sorrows, the beginning of the End. Even in the recent weeks two great hurricanes have striked southern USA, causing both social and economical problems that will affect, and does affect the whole world.

The world has surely become a different place to live in. In a believer's eyes there is no doubt the End Time IS here, and the wise virgins are making themselves ready, with oil (the Holy Ghost) on their lamps.

I want to be in THAT number, I want to be a wise virgin that day, with Holy Ghost oil in my lamp. A virgin is a sanctified believer, who is living in purity. Even the foolish virgins were holy people, but they'll go through the tribulation. What about you? Are you ready to go? Read the following quote from a sermon by William Branham and see if your life matches God's standard:

Setting Captives Free

Every Christian is a soldier for the Lord. The battlefield we fight on is our mind. The weapon we use is the Word of God and the Mind of Christ gives us our orders.

Like Paul said, we're pressing toward the perfection, seeking to throw off every weight that's hindering a closer walk with God.

Besetting sins
Some believers have problems with giving up evil habits. These evil habits can be besetting sins such as smoking, drinking, sexual addiction (pornography), gambling etc.

It could be anything that hinders you from spiritual progression. And that "anything" is your enemy.

Satan can be defeated
Perhaps you find yourself fighting an enemy that you cannot defeat? Perhaps you're into any of these habits? If you are, Jesus Christ is always there to help you.

Sometimes by sending someone with an encouraging word, and other times by directing you to someone who can be an accountability partner.

Be sure. The enemy is defeatable.

Jesus Christ is setting captives free
I have come across a site on the internet that is run by volunteers who offer help and guidance to people who are bound by besetting sins such as I have mentioned above. On their homepage www.settingcaptivesfree.com they write:

Are you captive? We are here to help you find freedom by God's grace.

They offer many testimonies from people who have found freedom in Christ by doing lessons online and committing to a personal mentor.

The main point they try to get across is: "You cannot do it in your own strength and will power, but only by leaving it in the hands of Jesus Christ."

Giving Up & Being Given To

I was thinking about it. Is it possible to believe in someone else's place for their healing? You have probably read about the Roman centurion who had faith for his servant. But what about today? Read when Brother Branham discerns a man in the congregation:

"You setting there, sir, looking at me so sincerely, back there in that second row. You've got somebody on your mind, a man with a blue-looking shirt on, his collar open. You're studying about somebody.

It's a--it's about a brother, and a brother is a... stand up. There's another man standing in front of you. A vision is... It's--it's a brother that's blind and you got a mother. She has heart trouble. Is that right?

Isn't that them setting right next to you?

And in the vision when I seen you at your house, before you left, isn't that your wife setting right next to you there? Is that right?

Will you with that much faith, you know what I'd do if I was in your place?

I'd give up that habit of smoking cigarettes and accept their healing. Will you do it? God bless you. Amen.

Lukewarm Laodicea

Great Faith - Mustard Seed Faith

In the sermon "Be Not Afraid It Is I" (March 5th 1960) the prophet William Marrion Branham talks about the coming change in his ministry. But he also says that there's another ministry coming, that will help those who are weak in the faith "to raise up and get a hold of God like they should."

Brother, sister, we're in that season now! Even though you may be the weakest Christian, the devil trembles when you get down on your knees to pray. What will happen when that rapturing faith strikes the Church of the living God? Everything will shake!!

"Now, there's a another one greater, far greater than all the rest of them put together, already confirmed and ready.

I hope it happens tonight. I just might say that. I don't have the time to explain it to you, but the brethren who does know about it, it's wonderful.

It'd be such a great thing for the people. And I am grateful to God that the hour is soon at hand (I believe it), when God is going to help His children.

Especially, it'll be for those who can't muster the faith to raise up and get a hold of God like they should. I believe the Lord is providing a way for us now to take care of them also.

Some runs into the faith that they can just reach over and receive anything. Why, that's great faith.

Some of them has mustard seed faith, and has to wait so long to get through.

I believe the Lord is making a way for those people now. And I don't know when it will be, but it will be. Just as certain as I'm standing here, it will be."

Don't you love the Lord? His mercy and grace is so far beyond what we can imagine. He cares, do you?

Prayer And Spiritual Life III

"We got too many things ahead of the Lord.

You can't have the prayer meeting because Mr. Godfrey's on tonight. You can't have the prayer meeting because "We Love Sucy" is on tonight, or some kind of a foolish nonsense like that, that takes up the time.

And we don't have time to hear the voice of the Lord.

And those who do claim to be Christians, just kneel down of the little prayer like this, kinda homemade. "Lord bless me, and my family, and take care of us. Good night." And the next morning rise and say, "Just guide us through the day. Good day."...

We should wait on the Lord. You see, we do all the talking. We don't give Him a chance to talk back to us.

That if we would pray and pray until our soul comes into the Presence of God, and then just relax and listen to His voice...

But there's so many voices today that takes the voice of the Lord away from us.

There's the voice of pleasure. So many people are listening to that, where they can go and have a good time. And many of them are professing to be Christians. Some kind of an old rock-and-roll coming up, they just can't listen to what God...

They--they say, "Well, I'm a Christian, I read a verse in the Bible today, yeah, 'Jesus wept.'" That's it, go ahead.

But then, to really get down and pray, they got to many other things to do. There's so many voices in the world, so many things to attract our attention from God."

God Loves A Humble Christian II

That's what the Holy Spirit does. It makes you meek, makes you humble, makes you forgiving.
Could they pull whiskers from your face, if you had them there, jerk them out and spit in your face, when you had the power to call a legions of Angels?

Could you do that for the love of the people that was spitting in your face? Could you do it? If somebody just walked up to you and said, "Hey, you hypocrite." and smacked you on one side of the face, could you pray for their forgiveness?

Now, that's where trust--test whether you got the Holy Spirit or not. See? When somebody says something evil against someone, sometimes that claims to have the Holy Spirit. "I'll get even with her if it takes me my last day." See? Now, there's where you check about your Holy Spirit. See? "Blessed are you when men shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for My Name's sake." But you go get even with them? No.

"Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." See? When someone says evil about you, say something good. If you can't say something good about them, then don't say nothing. Just let it go. See? And then when you get to yourself, pray for them.

God Loves A Humble Christian

Some thoughts on humility a late summer evening...

"Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity,whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
(Isa 57:15)

What a wonderful thing! God is close to those - yes he lives and dwells with those who are humble and who have a contrite spirit. The apostle Peter said, "God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." (1Pe 5:5 )

I'm asking myself this question today, and so should you: "Am I humble enough? Do I fear God enough? Have I repented from every sin in my life?" I know what the answer is... I need more humility, more fear of God and to have more sorrow for the things I do wrong.

As Solomon said: "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil." (Pro 8:13) We who call ourselves Christians need to identify Satan's tricks, we should hate the worldly things that are designed by him, and seek the Kingdom of God. Some Christians misuse Paul's words, saying, "All things are lawful unto me." (1Cr 6:12). They say that they don't believe in "works", though the Bible plainly states that "faith without works is dead." (Jam 2:26).

The Lord Jesus Christ says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (Jhn 14:15) He was later quoted by John, who wrote, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (1Jo 5:3)

His commandments are not hard... if you're a Christian. Works only show that you have Faith. That's why Faith without works is dead! If the works aren't there, then there's something wrong with your faith.

If you're a Christian, you will be like Christ. Your life will grow more and more into His likeness as you progress in your spiritual walk. Faith will produce works - a born again Christian will produce Christ!

And Christ was humble. Jesus says: "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." (Jhn 15:12) Let us love one another, then, with brotherly love. Be humble and kind, forgiving one another, remembering that Jesus Christ forgave us.

Humility is one of the signs that you're a true Christian!

Read the Word, It's God's Breath

Speak the Word

Every Word in the Bible is God's thoughts laid in seed form, that if received into the human being, and spoke by the same thought that materialized the Bible, brings the thing to pass.

See what I mean? How powerful could the Church be? The Bible said, "Let this mind that was in Christ be in you. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Now, your thoughts, if they become expression... (...)

Before a word it's a thought, and a thought has to be created. All right. So God's thoughts become creation when it was spoke by a word. That's when He presents it to you as a thought, His thoughts, and it is revealed to you, then it's still a thought until you speak it.

Lost Your Personal Revival?

That's the reason the people is in the condition they are, is because they let the wrong spirit come into their heart. (...) The Bible said that's the reason there's so many sick and afflicted among us, is because of such things. We must be gentle. We must be peaceful. We must be a lamb, so that the Dove can abide with us. "Oh, I felt so good; I felt like I could get every little bird out of the tree and hug it and love it. But, you see, the reason He couldn't abide. You was a lamb then; but when you become a wolf, He had to take His flight. Nothing wrong with the Dove; it's you, and you let that spirit come to you, "Did I let it, Brother Branham?"

Yes, when you went to listening to that gossip, when you listened to that lie, when you went to saying, "Well, I've got a right to." You haven't got no right. You are bought with a price, that was the price of the precious Blood of the Son of God. (...)

You've got to be led by the Spirit of God. And the only way to be led by the Spirit of God is keep gentle, not to know a whole lot.

Oh, you think, "I know a whole lot." Yeah, you get your brain all worked up and it can't even work itself. You know all the books, and all the answers, and an the Greek and all the Hebrew, till it ain't got no place for the Dove to roost. That's right. But you know it all; then the Dove can't lead, 'cause you know too much.

Seek & You Shall Find

Jesus said:

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

This is the time to seek God! We see that the world as we know it, is coming to its end. The Church, the group of born again christians filled with the Spirit, will go in the rapture, while the remaining christians without oil on their lamps will find themselves in the tribulation.

My goal is certain: I will serve the Lord! I will seek Him diligently of all my heart and find the truth. Pray for revelation, as the prophet recommended us to do. This is not the time to play with the world... this is the time to get into the Ark.

You who are reading this... seek, and you shall find. Knock, and the Lord shall open the door for you. The Holy Ghost is still falling today!

Devils Tremble When YOU Pray!

Devils tremble when the weakest of saints goes to their knees. What a power and a privilege has been given to the Church of the living God. When you fall to your knees in prayer even the devils tremble, to the weakest of them. Think of it.

Prayer is a sincere thing. Prayer is talking to God. Prayer is not get down, shut your eyes, and thinking about your washing or your work you're doing, say, "Lord, help me and John, and heal Miss Jones and so forth." That's not prayer. That's repeating some words.

But prayer is to come into an atmosphere where you realize that you're in the Presence of God and you're moving to then in the deepest of sincerity. First you say a little worship, "O Jehovah, how I love You." You see it? Then after the worship of prayer, then you come with a sincere heart asking.

Of all the people that I have had the pleasure to meet, I believe noone has made such an impression on me like dr. Wilbur Chapman. Once he wrote to a friend: "I have learned a good lesson concerning prayer. During one of our series of meetings in England the audience was very small. But then I received some lines that told that an American missionary had gone in to pray down the blessings of God over our work.

He was known as 'Praying Hyde' . Soon after this everything was changed. The auditorium was filled up, and fifty souls received Christ as Saviour in the first altarcall. When we were to leave that night, I told Hyde that I wanted him to pray for me. He came to my room, turned the key in the door, fell down on his knees and laid still for five minutes without his lips even uttering a single word. I could hear the heartbeats. I felt warm tears flow down my face. I understood that I was in the presence of God.

Then I saw Hyde turning his face upwards with the tears flowing from his eyes, his lips whispering: 'O Gud!' Then he was silent for at least another five minutes. Then, with a certain conviction that he was talking with God, he opened his heart in intercessory prayer for me in a way that I'd never heard a human being pray for another human being before. I had been on my knees before God and learned from a human being what prayer really is. Now I believe in the power of prayer like never before."

Dr. Chapman has also said this: "It was those moments on my knees together with John Hyde that made me conscious of what real prayer is. I owe him, more than anyone else, that I know something about prayerlife, about a life consecrated to God.

...I saw Jesus Christ again. I caught a glimpse of his prayerlife. I received a new longing, that I've still got to this very day: that I really had to become a man of prayer. God, the Holy Spirit can teach us."

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray;
This is my heart-cry, day unto day.
I long to know Thy will and Thy way;
Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray.

Prayer And Spiritual Life

When praying to the living God, we are clothed in a glow of holiness, just like the beauty of the flower in the sunlight. Was not Jesus changed while he prayed? If prayer gets it's right place in our lives, it will mean a change in our lives. We mean something to our fellow human beings in the sense that we reflect God to them.

What is prayer? It is a sign of spiritual life. I can expect just as much life in a dead human being than spiritual life in a soul that does not pray. Our spirituality and fertility is always in relationship to a real prayerlife. If we have falled away from, if we're not in the realm of prayer anymore, let us then make this decision: "I will arise and go to my father, and say to him: "Father..."

Foxe's Book of Martyrs

It is always inspiring to read about prayer warriors and mighty men og faith, and how their lives were, and how they influenced the people around them.

But, it is also inspiring to read about men and women who gave their lives for this Gospel, the martyrs who despite torture and persecution still kept their faith. It makes me very thankful!

I would like to recommend the book "Foxe's Book of Martyrs". You can buy it on Christianbook.com or Parable.com. I have linked to Berry's version of the book, an edition that presents Foxe's work in today's language.

Confess & Believe

Stand Fast In The Liberty

A brother sent me this Word from Galatians 5:1, and it was such a blessing to me:

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

It struck my heart! As Christians we are going through a continual sanctification, getting rid of things from this world, from bad habits and things we do that are against the Word of God. You do not have to be a slave for the thing you are struggling with in your life, whether it be smoking, drinking, lusting, temper, bitterness or worldly music and fashions...

Whatever it is. Cast your burden unto Jesus Christ! He has set you free, and you must hold fast to that freedom! Don't bow to sin again!

But you cannot be victorious using your own strength and will-power. If you do, you'll only fall back into the same old dirty track again. Let the Holy Spirit do it, and praise Him for having already done it!

Liberty comes when we by faith praise God for setting us free! A story from Acts 16,25 comes especially to my mind. Paul and Silas were in jail because they had been preaching the Word of God:

"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them."

Think about it! They were praising God while still sitting in their chains!

Did God hear Paul and Silas? Let us see what happens when you praise God while still being bound by something. Verse 26 says:

"And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed."

They were set free!

Use this in your daily life, my friend. If you are in a "prison", praise Him and believe Him for the liberty He has given you. The chains will fall

A Kneeling Christian

I want to share with you a quote from a wonderful book I'm reading now. It's called "A Kneeling Christian":

"We can work for God from morning until night. We can spend hours studying the Bible. We can be serious and sincere in our preaching and in our personal conversations, but none of all this can be really effective if we do not pray much."

Amen! We can read about God. We can talk about Him - but what good is it if we never talk to Him and with Him? He longs for us to express our love to Him! We're His Bride are we not?

Are you like me, desiring a closer relationship with God? If you are, I believe there's a way to know Him better: Let us pray more. Spend more time in prayer. Let us put God first, and I believe we will experience greater things in our lives! We can never pray too much!

A preacher once said: "Man's not measured by his muscles, but by the bags of the knees of his pants where he's been praying." I say "Amen, brother! Let me have that testimony!"

Who Am I?

Humility is a great thing. A preacher once said:
"The only way up, is down!" Oh, how true that is. For who are we to think that we're worthy of His love? We deserve death like anyone else, but He called us out of the world, justified us, started to clean us up through sancification, with a promise of the baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:38.

I want to share with you the song "Who Am I" by Rusty Goodman, because it really paints the picture I'm trying to bring into your mind: "Who Am I?"

Power of Confession

Yesterday I knelt on the floor by my bed to pray. But something hindered me. I couldn't pray... I felt condemned by a lie, a half-truth that I told a friend of mine some time ago.

For him it was not a big deal probably, but I just couldn't bear to keep on in that lie. I was reminded of these words from the Bible:

"For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all
things.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence
toward God.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep
his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight."
1st John 3,20-22

I knew that my heart condemned me - and I knew what I had to do. I had to make it right. So the only thing I could do was to pray for strength. Because this was not easy for me.

This morning I made it right (praise God), and my heart doesn't condemn me anymore. And the person I confessed this to was not angry with me at all, and was surprised that this had been bothering me so much. But now I'm free and I feel victory. Satan doesn't want us to tell the truth. But as Christians we should. We gain victory by walking in the light! Thank God for that still small voice that's leading us on!

"If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1st John 1,7

Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! I am walking in the light again, and the blood of Jesus is cleansing me from all sin.

My Prayer For Today

Lord,

Thank you for being able to have this blog. May it be a blessing for those who come across it.

Please guide my footsteps today and keep me from evil. When I meet the enemy, let me speak the Word like you did that day when he tempted you in the desert: "It is written!"

Sanctify me, Lord. Cleanse my heart and give me a new filling of your Spirit. I need it badly, Lord. This is an evil age. We need to be awake and ready.

Give me the spirit of prayer and a new zeal. Power to stay awake and focused when I'm on my knees. I love you Lord, I give my life to you again, and I commit the day into your hands, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

My desire is that this blog will be a blessing to you. A source of encouragement and inspiration for you in your daily walk with God.

I have named this blog "Revival In Me" because that's where it must start. In me! In you! Don't wait for someone else to get on fire.. get on fire for God yourself! And watch God come on the scene.

To revive means "to bring back to life again" or "to live again". We can't live on some past experience. We need to be renewed and revived. We need to have a relationship with God today!
